Looking for a better Plex experience on Apple TV?

Keep Plex and change the player

The official Plex app is one option. Infuse is another: Firecore documents connections to Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby as well as network shares. If your main concern is playback on one Apple TV, testing another compatible player is a smaller change than migrating a household's server.

Check each app's current pricing and supported formats. A claim that an app plays a file doesn't tell you whether every HDR layer or audio format reaches your equipment unchanged.

Switch the server and apps to Tofa

Consider Tofa if you also want its server dashboard, free hardware transcoding, or the same account across its official apps. Run Tofa beside Plex, reuse your media folders, and preview a history import before committing.

Try your usual subtitles, seeking, resume, and episode transitions.
